Microsoft ends xbox live support for older games

Microsoft stated on their website they are going to be ending support for the Original xbox games. After April 15th users will not be able to play games such as halo or halo 2 on xbox live.

"This isn't a decision we made lightly, but after careful consideration, it is clear this will provide the greatest benefit to the Xbox Live community," Whitten said. "And as we look down the road, we'll continue to evolve the service with features and experiences that harness the full power of Xbox 360. To reach our aspiration, we need to make changes to the service that are incompatible with our original Xbox v1 games."

Hello,

I wanted to inform you about the new blog post on the history of logo designs for gaming consoles: http://www.mycorporatelogo.com/blog/2010/03/gaming-console-logos/. We you may be interested in taking a gander.

This puts Xbox a level lower than Sony's Playstation trio. The discontuing of support to older xbox games, and disallowing the ability to playback such games will surely affect its market and thus, would do more harm than good.
