Microsoft ends xbox live support for older games

{ Posted on 11:38 AM by S.Singh }
Microsoft stated on their website they are going to be ending support for the Original xbox games. After April 15th users will not be able to play games such as halo or halo 2 on xbox live.

"This isn't a decision we made lightly, but after careful consideration, it is clear this will provide the greatest benefit to the Xbox Live community," Whitten said. "And as we look down the road, we'll continue to evolve the service with features and experiences that harness the full power of Xbox 360. To reach our aspiration, we need to make changes to the service that are incompatible with our original Xbox v1 games."

Aphone android chinese knockoff...

{ Posted on 9:04 PM by S.Singh }

As we all know chinese knock offs are starting to invade every product market. Apple, Nintendo, sony, Gucci, and nike have all fell victim to the cloned versions of them selves. They have made millions, if not billions, of dollars cloning and selling goods to unexpected people. First it was the ipod, then the Itouch, and now... the Iphone.

Well not exactly the iphone... but similar...
It floats like an iphone but stings like a Android.

You would never guess what it is called.The "aphone"...
256 mb rom, 130 mb ram,  2 megapixel camera, Has a 3.5 in screen, wifi 802.11 b/g built in,  Runs on Android 1.5, and does NOT support 3g.

As we can see in the video, the screen is slow and not responsive, and the video lags like a snail ...

Notebook Cooler

{ Posted on 9:38 PM by S.Singh }

The ZM-NC2000 is designed to be "aerodynamic" and a noise reducer. This baby is designed with fine curvature and great cooling performance. It was made with a 3mm thick aluminum panel, a Rubber Grip Strip, and  two fans that blow air out. Normal coolers  suck the hot hair below the notebook but this one blows up for optimum cooling. It is powered by the notebooks usb, but could be powered externally with the right adapter. The best part of all is the fan control. You can control the speed of the fans with the control on the side panel.
It costs roughly about $55... not bad for a really good cooler. Best if bought with a new laptop.

Company of heros rts

{ Posted on 6:56 PM by S.Singh }

Company of heros is an real time strategy game (rts)  game that came out in sept 2006.    It gets its cues from Saving private Ryan, and you will notice that right from the beginning. The game offers realistic visuals and game-play. The game starts off with the invasion of Omaha Beach during wwII. You play as able company and start by taking the beaches. The story is linear. As it progresses you get more and more abilities. Constructing bases, gathering resources,  and invading enemy ground is some of its main features. Some missions also require you to hold your ground and defend your territory by building mines, tank traps, at guns. You can order recon, air strikes and troop deployment via air planes. You are allowed to garrison any building. This means you can put snipers. heavy machine gun crews, and infantry  in any buildings. On top of the excellent game play you can also play online in multiplayer battles against other people around the world.

Pros -

apple slate $800

{ Posted on 10:15 AM by S.Singh }
Knowing how expensive apple is, it could cost anywhere from $500 -$900. Rumors suggests one could watch movies, read book, listen to music, and surf the tubes on this baby.Some say it will come out late 2010 and others suggest 2011+.  But the only problem is that Apple denies its existence. We know how popular the amazon kindle is, but If this does come out, it could take a chunk out of the laptop and ebook market. Even the name sounds very appleish. Who knows it might be even called the islate. We will have to wait and see what 2010 brings us. For more details on this, click here.

cool stuff on ebay for under $10

{ Posted on 1:16 PM by S.Singh }

Well I have been using ebay for a while, and every once in a while I come across some really cheap items. Now what I did was I took the list of cheap items and I bought them. These items are pretty good, and are worth the price for a while. They make good holiday, and birthday gifts too. I bought  1 notebook cooling pad, 1 pair of headphones, a led mouse, and a usb fan, and packaged them up into one box and gave it a gift to someone. They loved it! Some people might disagree with me. They would say these items from China or Hong Kong are not tested properly, and or are not up to American standards. I don't think they are ether. They do feel cheap but they last a long time considering the price you are paying.

Memory card reader - $1, or best offer!

2.5mm to 3.5mm headphone jack converter - $1

White headphones - $1, long,  pretty comfortable, and audio quality is decent... perfect for listening to music/podcasts before bed, and for kids. ( also available in black )

 Ipod  case for $1... some people are selling a dozen for only $1 but those sell quick!

Leather iphone case. $1 hard plastic cases are available for the same price too!

Hdmi cable - 3ft long $2.30

Usb fan ( pretty cool ) $3

Foldable  Notebook pad (good for up to 15inchers) 0 $3! ( won't last long )

Mini led usb mouse  - $3 ( I bought this and the mouse wheel was damaged during shipping. The guy was kind enough to send a second one, free of charge! )

3 fan notebook pad - $5.40 cents ... pretty good for the price but not reccomended of notbook over 15 inches.

Ipod controls builtin...

{ Posted on 9:59 AM by S.Singh }

Thats right! In jackets! The ipod controls are built in.  Good for winter sports! You store your jacket in the inner pocket of the jacket.There is a small joystick on the sleeve of the arm. So you will not have to take out your ipod to change the volume or switch tracks. The price of this jacket costs alot more then the ipod, so I don't suggest buying it.

Instead just get the ipod out and switch the tracks... or have it to shuffle.

Jacket price - $348.95.
 Ipod nano price - $150

Jade Dynasty the mmo of the future?

{ Posted on 12:02 PM by S.Singh }

Im sure that all of you know what the word mmorpg means. ( mmorpg = Massive multiplayer online role-playing game)

In standard mmorpg games you have click on the ground, or use the wasd controls to make your character move. You have to level your own character, and in some, grind. Grinding is where you kill monsters for no reason other then to level it up. In some games it can take months to get your character to the max level. In others you have but special item shop items so you can level faster. ( 10% extra exp for some odd dollars)

There are other games like world of warcraft where you must pay a monthly fee to pay for it. Then the biggest problem with some of these games is not the fact that you have t grind for months, or that you have to pay monthly fee, it is that You have to deal with Bot!

What are bots? Bots are automated programs that other players use to level faster, level automatically, get gold faster, in other words, to cheat. They use them to get ahead of other players. Some botting programs cost money, about $5 - $15. On top of that you have to pay for the game, $15. Meaning you could be paying anywhere from $15 - $30 a month for a game that you might only play for 6 months.

Then comes alot jade dynasty. Jade dynasty is a game that allows you to do everything that a standard mmorpg game, but it also allows that extra feature. It is the ability to bot. You start off with a level on character, and level your self untill you get to level 3. Then after level 3 you do a small quest, and get a esper. ( a bot) an esper can train your character by it self. So this takes you grinding to level up out of the equation.

You can quest in the day time, and bot at night. Its a good deal. Also you don't even have to use the wasd controls. You just point and click on the map where you want to go, and it takes you. If you are on a quest and you cannot find the npc, you click on that npc's name, and it automatically takes you. But, to me that is not the main selling point.

I think the best thing about this game is it is fun! It starts off a little bland but after around level 10, you can go on quests. All the items in this game are very easy to get! Botting over night can get you quite alot of gold after around level 45 that is. You can upgrade your esper, or get new espers. Upgrading your esper gives you more defense, hp, and attacks for when you are botting.

The game also has tons of great quests that can keep you occupied for the entire day. Each day there are different evens, quests, and journeys you can go on. There are some quests that give you experience, some that give you better espers ( bots), and alot that give you titles, such as Lost soul, and Conqueror of the west. There are also daily fishing tenements, which you can never loose! You always get more gold then you started out with.

Another major thing about this game is that it is fee to play! There is an item shop mall where you have to pay to get items. But that is not a problem. They also have a program where you can do simple surveys to get cash. The surveys can give you anywhere from $25 cents to $50. I am sure you know about the websites that give you money for completing surveys and such. The problem with that is that those survey sites give  you a very minuscule amount of cash. They might give you 25% of the profit, and they keep the rest. In jade dynasty you get 100% of the profit... well in item mall money that is.

Then you can use that money to buy what ever you want. This keeps the ingame prices low, and if you break something by blacksmithing/enchanting you don't loose much. Which also leads to a happy game experience. It might seem absurd at first, but it all works out after around level 30. (You can get to level 45 in about 4 days if you are new, 1 day if you know what you are doing.)

The only problem I have with this game is that you get a very small inventory and bank space to start out with. You get about 20 slots in inventory and 20 in bank. And you need item mall cash to expand it. This isn't a problem if you do a few surveys. About 4 surveys should allow you to expand you inventory further. Or you can charge your credit card for $3 and get it.

So give jade dynasty a try! Its free, and it is fun! As it downloads, do a couple of surveys, and get about $5 - 10 to help you out when you start off. ( buy your self some more inventory space for the best experience. )

psp 4000 leaked!

{ Posted on 11:59 AM by S.Singh }
Well It doesn't say that it is coming out. The picture just says the case also works for the psp 4000.The only problem is that there is no psp 4000 yet. So whats going on? It could be just a typo, or maybe they are working on a psp 4000. But why would they be releasing a new psp when they just came out with the psp go? Maybe they realized that PlayStation potable go maked no sense what so ever. Or maybe I am just going crazy. Ether way it work. Ha!

Looks like someone is in trouble.

Ipod clones running a muck on ebay.

{ Posted on 11:44 AM by S.Singh }
Have you ever bid on an ipod, and when you get it, it turns out to be a fake? What gave it away? The cheap design or the loading screen? Here are 6 things to look out for when bidding on ebay.

1 - Watch out for Engrish! No not English, but Engrish. If the person is living in hong kong, or China, and is saying it a genuin ipod, you might want to double check. One is by emailing him, and tell him to send you a picture of the actual thing you are bidding on. If he or she declines then move on to a different auction!

2 - Look for the word "ipod" usually now days when they are posting the fake ipods, they say " Oem mp4 player". Not ipod so look out for that!

3 - abnormal features! If the guy says its an Ipod shuffle, and he also says it has a camera on it then it is probably not an ipod! There are ipod shuffles clones with a built in camera, and sd card slot (lol). So watch out for that! I know ipod nanos have cameras, so another thing to watch out for is the buttons on the ipod. A normal Ipod has these buttons. Also the fake ipod touch has a button that is a rectangle, not a circle, like the real one.

A fake Ipod would have buttons like this -

4 - Screen size! if the screen is 1.5 inch Fake ipods have a screen cover that is about 1.5 inches but the actual screen size is only 1.2 - 1.3 inches.

5 - multi media player, pouch, and no original packaging "but safely wrapped around bubblewrap!"  Most of the time, fake ipod sellers have the words OEM, and multi media player in the same sentence! They always include a "free gift" pouch that says the words mp4 player, or has a Disney character on it.  Also they will say this item will not include the original  packaging to save shipping costs.

6 - Price and capacity! Since i pod clones made with cheap materials, they will have a price that is about 1/5 -  the price of a real Ipod. You can find ipod clones going for $20, while the real Ipods go for $100 -$150. Note that the $20 ipod clones are 2gb. Some will attempt to sell 8gb ones for $20. But the truth is that those 8gb players have hacked firmwares! They are really 128mbs - 2gbs. All they do is trick the ipod clone to think it is 8gbs. If you recently bought a 8gb fake ipod clone for $20 then contact the seller. He will attempt to give you a 50% refund, and say " our worker made mistake with chip." But the catch is you will have to leave a positive comment first.

If you are planning on buying a real ipod, then please do not buy it from ebay, unless you are sure it is the real deal! Always buy from people that accept returns, so if you do not like what you have bought, you can return it. But you do want a fake ipod then  here are the going prices -

Ipod shuffle clone - sd slot ( no memory ) about $6
Ipod shuffle 2gb memory clone - $12
Ipod nano - 2gb or hacked to 8gb clone - $20
Ipod touch clone - $40
Remember they can explode, and or cause damage since they are not really quality tested.

Duke Nukem Critical Mass

{ Posted on 10:30 AM by S.Singh }

Coming 2010! Hopefully this isn't another Duke Nukem Forever, where it takes 10 years to make ( refer to Duke Nukem Forever post)
" Critical Mass is the first in the planned Duke Nukem trilogy of handheld games, but it also takes place at the furthest point in the timeline. Confusing? Blame time travel. Critical Mass finds Duke in a dystopian future where he must figure out how the aliens took over. The subsequent games will send him (in order) to the present day and then back to World War 2 in his quest to set things right. Could Duke be due for a Wolfenstein crossover or a one-on-one battle with Hitler? We can only hope.

As for Critical Mass itself, it's hard to tell if the game will be a return to form for the long-defunct Apogee Software or simply an unwanted blast from the past. One thing is certain though: The game doesn't contain nearly as much clip art as the trailer, and that's a damned shame."

Its comming out to the nintendo ds, and psp.

Oh yea... amazon is already taking preorders. SO if you want to preorder it click here.

Torchlight

{ Posted on 9:20 AM by S.Singh }

Well since this blog is about games I thought I would also share a game with you. This game is pretty good. If you have played Diablo you will be familiar with this game in terms of its camera movement and dungeon crawling. This is an action role-playing game developed by runic games and published by perfect world Entertainment. It is set in the fictional town of torchlight. You have to explore the caverns near by, and collect valuable loot and battle monsters. You can play as a destroyer, vanquisher or alchemist.
The destroyer is a warrior class who depends upon its melee skills. This class also has the ability to use its ancestral magic.

The Vanquisher is more of a assassin class. This class can use ranged weapons and trap her foes.

The Alchemist is a mage class. This class uses its power, which is derived from "ember", to make fireballs, lightening, and to summon imps, and robots.

You also get to choose a pet. You can pick a dog or you can pick a cat. It helps kill monsters. If your inventory gets full you can send it back to town to sell off the goods.

The plot of the game is - the town called torchlight is built on a vein of ember. The ember is power to imbue people and items with magical powers. However, as the player character explores the dungeons below Torchlight, they discover that Ember has a corrupting influence which led to the fall of past civilizations and endangers those who use it in the present.

Overall its a good game! I give it a 4/5.

the pros
It has a good price. It is only $20
It is a dungeon crawler with randomly generated dungeons. This means it has alot of replay value. You can replay the game with a different class and see it from a different point.

The cons
Only 3 characters to choose from. No multilayer. You can't even change the sex of those characters.

If you are not sure you want to buy this game right away, you can try the demo.
Or you can buy it right away from only $20.

This game would make a great Christmas present, especially if you have not yet bought one for that special someone. Great gift for someone who loves dungeon crawler and diablo style games.

Mp3s for only .05 cents each? Legal?

{ Posted on 7:41 AM by S.Singh }

yes! There is a website called mp3fiesta that is offering all their songs for only .05 cents each.

You can also buy the whole album for only .50 cents! The reason it is legal is because it is a Russian company. In Russia the Russia's Copyright Organization (ROMS) sets the royalties that go to the artist, and they set it way lower then here in the USA. So yea artists get less royalties but hey ... you got your track for only .05 cents and the artists can always send in a form to have their music taken down.

And yes it is legal!

"This site is not illegal, unethical, or amoral. I work with digital music @ Best Buy through several different companies including our own and can tell you that you aren't just purchasing a digital download but the whole shabang that made it available including but not limited to advertising, employees, software to distribute, physical cards to purchase in stores, proprietary file extensions (all kinds of other madness goes with those), and support. The FBI said it right; "they don't have the overhead" I'll bet the operating cost of this outfit is next to nothing. So maybe Amazon and iTunes seem a bit hinky to me for having to charge us for their costs. You wouldn't want to pay $5000 more for your car because the dealer hired 5 more people and put out a series of commercials! Why pay more on iTunes? This looks like a healthy source of music that's marked just over cost. Guy probably gets $$$ from ads or the millions of dimes flying in...I'm sure telling my pals about it."
